The Clinical Informatics Team (CIT), provides role and workflow based training and develops provider/ clinical and administrative workflows. In addition, they are also responsible for providing optimization and new application implementation for our Healthcare Technology. The Clinical Informatics team includes Application Trainers and Clinical Informatics Registered Nurses (RNs).

Effective July 1, 2020, the State of Virginia will require Electronic Prescribing for any Controlled Substances, as well as for Gabapentin.
Effective in January 2021, DC and MD providers will need to start using Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances (EPCS). CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicare Services) will require Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances for all Medicare patients beginning January 1, 2021.
